Arthur Melo will not be cutting his loan from Juventus to Liverpool short, Fabrizio Romano has relayed, which means the Brazilian midfielder will remain at Anfield for the full 2022/23 season.
Being unable to sign their primary midfield target this summer, Aurelien Tchouameni, Liverpool settled for a temporary solution in the form a loan as they reportedly wait for the end of this season to make a move for Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham. However, Arthur has hardly helped their cause at this point, playing a total of 13 minutes in one match across all competitions, a 4-1 defeat away to Napoli in the Champions League.
The 26-year-old has been an injury absence ever since, and as things stand, he s not expected back in action before February.
The situation has led to speculative media claims that Arthur s stay at Liverpool could end in January, but that obviously won t be the case.
Arthur Melo’s agent Pastorello: “He ll stay at Liverpool in January, 100%. It s an aspect that has never been under discussion”, tells TMW.
“A possible return to Turin is absolutely not the case”.
